Safe Citing
(Guidelines for careful borrowing...)

The first rule is: if you cite, you must document. This means that whenever you cite a source, you must also write down where the words/ideas come from. There is a page devoted to the art of documentation (go to Documenting citation and references). Make sure, for now, that you write down what book the words come from, the author, publisher, edition, and copyright date. You will need all of this information for the bibliography at the end of your essay. During the essay you will have to indicate what author/book/page you're using. Keep notes on this as you're writing, so you don't go crazy at the end looking for this stuff!!!
