Gilok Choi, Assistant Professor
PhD, Univerity of Texas, Austin, School of Information

I am interested in how users process different forms of auditory and visual information in virtual environments. Although recent development of multi-sensory media allows us to integrate different forms of information into a simple application, a multimedia system is more difficult to build and maintain than a traditional media.

My research interest was shaped during my master degree (MIME-Master of Immersive Media Environment) at Indiana University. It gave me invaluable experience with and insights on multimedia applications in designers' point of view and as a Ph. D student became more focused on human cognitive processing and perceptual experience, which should be underlying design priciples.

Irene Lopatovska, Assistant Professor

Ph.D. candidate, Information, Communication and Library Studies, Rutgers, New Jersey.
M.S., Information Sciences, University of North Texas.
BS, Russian Language and Literature, Kiev State University.

My dissertation research focuses on the role of emotions in information retrieval process. I am interested in optimizing user experiences and decisions involved in the use and management of information. I am currently teaching Introduction to Profession and Online Database Searching courses
