PEOPLE-CENTERED METHODS AND DESIGN

Description : Principles and practices from the field of design are used to introduce students to design-thinking and design research methods. This is a project-based course, where learning the way through a process is equally as important as the final deliverable. At the conclusion of the course, students will have the leadership skills necessary to prepare, implement, manage, maintain, and further develop, human-centered designs and service interfaces.

Description :
This course provides students with the leadership skills needed to strategically define, develop, introduce, and diffuse usability thinking and doing into and within organizations in general and their service interfaces specifically, the ‘hands on’ management skills needed to design, implement, and evaluate the usability testing of digital interfaces, and applied experience using the usability software suite Morae.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE AND INTERACTION DESIGN

Description :
Drawing on the principles of information architecture (IA) and interaction design (ID) this course provide students with a unified method for thinking about, and designing for, information and interactivity across time, in space, and to some extent, place as well. Specific attention is given to new media in general and to the web specifically.
